We are an online board game site.
If you ended up here, it means you love games where every
heavy move.
And Arcs weighs. It certainly weighs.
In every sense.

Author's image

The author is Cole Wehrle —yes, the same one from Root and Oath—and his name alone is enough to make the table shake. At his side, as always, is Kyle Ferrin : a visionary illustrator, capable of making even a space louse epic. Together they create worlds. Strange worlds. Others are crooked. And then there are some where anything goes, except trusting your neighbor.

The galaxy? Shattered.

Arcs collapse and conflict in the void

The Empire has collapsed. No one left a note. You are one of the few remaining leaders, with battered fleets, limited resources, and a mad desire to put the crown on your head. How? Whatever you want. War, diplomacy, bluffing, poetry. There's no right way. But there's a more fun way.

Not a game. A story arc.

"Arcs" isn't called that because it was cool. Every game is an arc. It begins. It grows. It explodes. It changes.

And sometimes... it continues. With the campaign expansion ( The Blighted Reach ), every session leaves scars and glory. The choices remain. The betrayals too. Three acts for a space opera of power and delirium. In Italian it will be presented with the evocative subtitle: "Arcs – Conflicts and Collapse in the Edge" .

Mechanics? Few, good, and bastard.

  • Cards? Multifunctional. One card does it all, if you play it at the right time.
  • Dice? You choose how much to risk. Do you want to play it safe or go big?
  • The action? The leader chooses it. The others follow suit... or outwit him.

Everything is fast, everything is sharp. Like a razor cut in deep space.

Why space?

Space illustration from the game Arcs, featuring stylized spaceships in a galactic war scenario.

Because Cole wanted to tell an ending, not a beginning. No pioneers. Only ruins. And the desperate desire to lead even when it no longer makes sense. Space in Arcs isn't exploration. Survival. A political theater. The last chance to say, "I'm the boss."

A design that tells (and hurts)

Circular board from the game Arcs – Collapse and Conflict in the Void, with custom meeples and dice.

The board is circular. Because no one really has a safe corner. The colors are saturated and strange. The ships have faces. Empires are born with a move. And fall with a die. And Kyle Ferrin manages to make you fond of even a spaceship that looks like a bar of soap.

Arcs MS Edizioni – The Italian edition of the space board game

Stylized spaceships from the game Arcs, featuring Kyle Ferrin's signature art style

MS Edizioni brings everything to Italy: the base game, narrative expansions, and extra content. Even the sculpted meeples and those crazy dice that can throw your honor away in three seconds. It's coming out in July 2025 , just in time to conquer the universe from your living room.

Also coming soon are the Miniature Kit and the Leader & Lore Kit , to make Arcs even more asymmetrical, strategic and... beautiful to look at on the table.

Why choose Arcs as your next board game

If you're looking for a deep, narrative-driven, and space-based board game , Arcs is one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. Its strategic yet accessible nature, Kyle Ferrin's art design, and Cole Wehrle's signature writing make it perfect for those looking for innovative miniatures board games , legacy campaigns, and ever-changing games.

Whether you're coming from Root or looking for narrative board games with real interaction, Arcs has something to appeal to you.

Personal opinion – We played it

If you're familiar with Root or Oath, you'll find the same genius here. But pushed further. Arcs takes the best of emergent storytelling, stitches it together with streamlined mechanics, and throws a dilemma in your face every three seconds. It's not a game for everyone, but if you enjoy strategic board games, full of difficult choices, low blows, and epic finales... you're right at home.

We loved him. And hated him. But we never stopped talking about him.
