Twenty-five years of suspicion, accusations, and friendships put to the test. Miller's Hollow celebrates with the Broken Fang Festival — and the wolves have chosen this very night to return.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
Twenty-five years later, the village celebrates. And the wolves return.
Published in 2001 by Philippe des Pallières and Hervé Marly, The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow is the board game version of the classic social game Mafia. A village is infested with werewolves: each player receives a secret role — werewolf, villager, or special character (seer, hunter, witch, little girl). No one knows who is who, except the wolves who recognize each other at night.
The game alternates between night phases (wolves choose a victim with their eyes closed, special roles act) and day phases (free discussion, accusations, voting to lynch a suspect). The villagers win by eliminating all the wolves. The wolves win by achieving numerical parity. Lies fly, alliances are formed and broken, and every game leaves its mark.
This is the 25th Anniversary Limited Edition. The village has organized the Broken Fang Festival to celebrate its resilience: artists arrive from everywhere and every family displays their ancestral emblems. But suspicion remains — what if the wolves took advantage of the celebration to strike again? The box includes 4 new characters with 4 dedicated scenarios and 28 emblems.
Simple to explain, impossible to forget. Social bluffing in its purest form — and after twenty-five years, it still hasn't been surpassed.
The secret of Werewolves in one line
The scenarios change the pace of the evening: you don't play the same game four times, you play four different evenings with the same group.

The Festival of the Broken Fang
Twenty-five years ago, werewolves returned to Miller’s Hollow. Since then, the villagers have fought back, and to honor that resilience, they have organized a grand event. Artists from all over, families proudly displaying their ancestral emblems. Yet, unease remains: what if the wolves use the celebration to strike again?
Four brand new roles designed for the Festival. They integrate into the card distribution and shift the balance of the nights: those who know the game by heart will find themselves without certainty.
Each new character comes with their own scenario. These are not just cosmetic variations: they change the game conditions and the pace of the evening, one at a time or combined.
The crests of Miller’s Hollow families, displayed during the Festival. These are exclusive celebratory materials for this print run: you won't find them in any other box of the line.
A celebratory package for the game's 25th anniversary, with dedicated graphics. Once it's gone, it's gone: it’s designed for those who have played Werewolf for years and want the perfect box to display.
🎲How to playThe rules in four steps▼
How to play
The flow of each round
Werewolf alternates between night and day phases. The moderator orchestrates everything. The new characters fit into this same flow, without changing its structure.
Everyone closes their eyes. The moderator calls the wolves: they open their eyes, look at each other, and point to their victim. Then the special roles are called: seer (chooses who to investigate), witch (decides whether to save or poison), etc. All in silence.
The moderator announces who died during the night. The eliminated player reveals their role and can no longer speak. If it was the hunter, they shoot before dying.
Players still alive discuss freely. They accuse, defend themselves, bluff. There are no turns: everyone talks together, the moderator keeps time. Then it’s time to vote.
Each player indicates who they want to eliminate. Whoever receives the most votes is lynched, reveals their role, and leaves the game. If it’s a werewolf, the villagers cheer. If it’s a villager, tension rises. Then night falls again.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Assignment
The moderator announces which Festival scenario you will play tonight. Then everyone closes their eyes and receives their role card. You look at it, then place it face down. No one knows who you are. The paranoia begins.
The first night
The moderator calls the wolves. They open their eyes, look at each other, and point to their victim. Then the special roles act: the seer chooses who to investigate, the witch decides whether to save. All in silence, with others' eyes closed.
The first lynching
The discussion begins. Someone accuses. Someone defends themselves. Someone remains silent (and this makes them suspicious). In the vote, one person is eliminated. They reveal their card. If it was an innocent villager, panic rises.
The revelation
The seer has discovered a wolf but cannot say so directly without getting killed. They make a vague accusation, too vague. The wolves understand who it is and target them. The next night, the seer dies.
The finale
Five players remain. Two wolves, three villagers. If the villagers make one wrong vote, the wolves draw and win. Tension is extremely high. Someone changes their vote at the last second. Cards revealed. Shouts. And someone immediately asks to try another scenario.

What to know beforehand
Three things you need to know
It's a celebratory edition
The game rules do not change: they remain as you know them. What it adds are 4 characters, 4 scenarios, and 28 emblems related to the Festival of the Broken Fang. If you're looking for a different game, this isn't it. If you're looking for a reason to put it back on the table, yes it is.
Player elimination
Whoever dies (lynched or devoured) is out of the game until the end. They can no longer speak or vote. If you are the first eliminated, you sit in silence for 20 minutes watching the others. With the wrong group, it's frustrating.
A moderator is needed
The moderator does not play: they orchestrate the phases, call roles, and manage time. With the new scenarios, their role is even more significant, as they introduce the evening's conditions. With small groups, losing one person to moderate is noticeable.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Two factions, two opposing victory conditions. The Festival scenarios can add particular conditions, but the fundamental objective remains the same.
Villager Victory
- Eliminate all werewolves (through daytime lynching)
- Use special roles to expose traitors
- Survive long enough to turn the numbers around
Werewolf Victory
- Achieve numerical parity with villagers (at which point they control the votes)
- Eliminate key roles (seer, hunter) before they can do damage
- Remain hidden long enough by pretending to be innocent
Twenty-five years later, Werewolf is still the ultimate social party game: the one you put on the table when you have at least 8 people and want to create chaos, laughter, and simulated grudges. This celebratory edition adds four new ways to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Werewolves of Miller's Hollow Limited Edition
What's different from the normal edition?
It's the 25th anniversary celebratory edition, set during the Festival of the Broken Fang. It adds 4 new characters with 4 dedicated scenarios and 28 emblems of the village families. The basic rules remain identical: what you can put into it changes, not how you play.
What exactly is in the box?
The contents declared by the publisher are 1 rulebook and 28 emblems. The rulebook includes the 4 new characters and the 4 scenarios of the Festival of the Broken Fang; the emblems are the crests of the village families, made for this celebratory print run.
How many players are needed to play well?
The official minimum is 8, but the ideal game is played with 10-12 people. With 8-9 players, you lose one person for the moderator and the group feels a bit small. Beyond 15, discussions get too long and some people get bored.
What mechanics does Werewolves of Miller's Hollow use?
Hidden roles, player elimination, voting, social deduction, asymmetric powers. It's the classic hidden role game with a night phase (secret actions) and a day phase (free discussion and public vote).
Is it suitable for people who never play games?
Yes, it's one of the best gateway games for parties. Rules in 5 minutes, no complex materials. The hard part is bluffing and reading others, but that's exactly what appeals even to those not used to board games. With newcomers, it's best to start without scenarios and introduce them from the second game.
Is it true that those who die early get bored?
Yes, and this is the main flaw. If you are eliminated in the second round, you sit in silence for 15-20 minutes watching others. With the right group, it's part of the fun (and you can cheer them on). With impatient people, it's a problem.
Is this edition in Italian?
Yes, the content is in Italian. The packaging is bilingual Italian/Spanish because the same celebratory print run is released in both markets. However, the game is almost language-independent: the moderator reads the roles at the start of the game, then everything is played through words.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow Limited Edition is the celebratory edition for the 25th anniversary of the social deduction party game for 8-18 players, aged 10+, lasting 30 minutes. Designed by Philippe des Pallières and Hervé Marly, published by Asmodee, it uses hidden roles, voting, and player elimination mechanics. This limited run is set during the Broken Fang Festival and adds 4 new characters with 4 dedicated scenarios; contents: 1 rulebook and 28 village family emblems. Each game sees townspeople and werewolves clash in night phases (secret actions) and day phases (discussion and lynching). Contents in Italian. Available on frogames.business.
