The FroGames card
You play the first card. He plays his. Simultaneous attack, no one knows what will happen. You add a card to the deck, you don't shuffle anything. The next hand will be different, but you don't know how.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Arthurian legends in an arcade arena
Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy is designed by Florian Sirieix, Benoit Turpin, Gricha German and Corentin Lebrat, published by Scorpion Masqué. It brings six new fighters inspired by Arthurian legend: Morgan, Merlin, the Dragon, Percival, the Green Knight and even Excalibur. Standalone box compatible with all other existing and future Tag Team sets.
Tag Team is a hybrid of tactical auto-battler and deckbuilder, inspired by classic arcade fighting games. You start with a deck of only two cards: you play them one at a time and apply their effects automatically. At the end of each round, you add a new card to your opponent's deck — but without reordering the existing ones. Timing is everything: you need to figure out where to place the new card to trigger devastating combos or block enemy attacks.

The six fighters
Arthurian legends with unique decks
Merlin
Has a lateral skill tree: certain cards boost blocks, attacks, or heals, then other cards trigger them for powerful but fragile combos.
Excalibur
The legendary sword becomes a fighter in its own right. Unique mechanics that no other character possesses.
Green Knight
Gains temporary power every time his health drops: encourages you to take risks in exchange for devastating blows.
Percival
Has a card stacking ability that influences how he attacks. Multi-layered planning for chain attacks.

🎲How to PlayThe rules in four steps▼
How to Play
The Flow of Each Round
The game structure is very simple: play your deck, add a card, restart.
You flip your cards one at a time and apply their effects automatically. Simultaneously with your opponent. Attacks, blocks, and heals resolve together.
Attacks that go through reduce the enemy character's health. If a fighter reaches zero, they are eliminated. You lose if both of your characters fall.
End of round: choose a card from the draft and add it to your deck in a specific position. You don't reorder the rest. Sequence is everything.
Resume from point 1. The deck grows, combos become more complex. The game accelerates until final elimination.
⏱️Your First GameThe chronicle, moment by moment▼
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Fighter Draft
Each player chooses two characters. Shuffle their two decks together. You now have 20 cards each, but start with only 2 in hand. The arena is ready.
First Blind Clash
Flip the first two cards simultaneously. Effects resolve together: attack, block, damage. No one knew what was coming. Someone immediately loses health.
Building Under Pressure
End of round: add a new card to your deck, but you cannot reorder the existing ones. You must calculate where to place it for it to appear at the right moment. Every mistake is costly.
The Combo that Works
You've placed three cards in perfect sequence. The chain triggers: attack + attack + block. The opponent can do nothing. Their character loses half health. You are now in the lead.
Final KO
A fighter drops to zero health. Match over. 15 minutes of gameplay, enormous replayability. Start again immediately with two different fighters.

Things to Know Beforehand
Three Honest Things
Steep learning curve for match-ups
There's a fascinating mental interaction with the opponent: you try to figure out which card to add and in which slot. But repeated games are needed to understand how characters fight each other. The first time you go by intuition.
Sequence luck exists
You don't roll dice, but the order of cards in the deck can screw you over. Add a powerful card in the wrong place and it gets stuck under three others. Planning reduces the risk, but doesn't eliminate it.
Requires immediate rematches
Games last 15 minutes and have huge replayability. But a single game is never enough: you immediately want to try other characters, other combos. It's not a "one and done" game.
🏆Victory and DefeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
Victory and Elimination
You win by eliminating both opposing fighters. There are no points, only KOs.
Victory
- Reduce both enemy characters' health to zero
- The last fighter standing wins the match
- Perfect combos can end it in a few turns
Elimination
- When one of your fighters reaches zero health, they are out
- If you lose both characters, you have lost the game
- A misplaced card in the deck can cost you the match
Space Biff thinks Arthur's Legacy might be the stronger of the two sets. Six Arthurian fighters, 120 possible combinations, more accessible mechanics than the base box. A tabletop fighting game that plays in 15 minutes.

What mechanics does Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy use?
Progressive deck-building (add cards during the game), hand management (manage sequences without reordering), card play conflict resolution (simultaneous resolution), variable player powers (each fighter has unique abilities), take that (direct attacks).
Is it suitable for those who have never played fighting games or deckbuilders?
Arthur's Legacy might be the best entry point for new players: the designers have kept the powers significant but manageable, and the new characters are easier to use than many from the previous set. Rules in 5 minutes, immediate first game.
