The FroGames card
You have twelve men in the mountains. To win this mission you must reveal three of them, but once revealed you will never have them again. The next mission will be harder. Do you go on or stop?
WHAT IS IT
Guerrilla warfare in the Spanish mountains, 1936–1952
Spain, 1936: Franco advances, the Republic falls, but those loyal to democracy take to the mountains and form the Maquis, armed resistance groups. Hidden among the rocks, they perfect the guerrilla warfare they will later use against the Nazis in France during World War II. Resist! was designed by Trevor Benjamin, Roger Tankersley and David Thompson, with art by Albert Monteys, and puts you in the shoes of a partisan commander who must decide how much to risk to free Spain.
It is a card-driven solitaire game in which you complete increasingly difficult missions by drawing cards from your deck of twelve Maquis. The heart of the game is the tension between keeping the cards face-down (safe, but less effective) and revealing them to unlock their full potential: the problem is that revealed cards are removed from the deck forever. Every round you must choose whether to stop or risk another mission with an increasingly weaker deck.
What they say abroad
"A tense solitaire game where every decision to reveal a card feels like a sacrifice."
A tense solitaire where every decision to reveal a card is a sacrifice.
— Meeple Mountain
Resist! puts you before brutal choices: win today or survive tomorrow. The tension of push-your-luck here is historical, literally.
— FroGames
Resist!
Resist! is designed exclusively for solitaire, without a multiplayer mode. The deck-destruction system works precisely because it is you against the missions and enemy cards, and the tension of push-your-luck is all in your head: no AI, only decisions on when to stop.
Your partisans
Twelve Maquis, twelve stories
Face-down Maquis cards
Each card represents a partisan with basic abilities. Face-down is safe, but little effective against enemies and difficult missions.
Revealed Maquis cards
Reveal a card to unlock its true power: strong attacks, special abilities. But once revealed it leaves the game forever.
Mission Cards
Increasingly difficult objectives. Complete a mission by defeating enemies and overcoming obstacles with the cards in hand.
Enemies and Guards
Francoist army, Civil Guard, Armed Police. You must defeat them or find a way to bypass them before they eliminate you.

How to Play
The Flow of Every Mission
Every round is a mission with fixed phases: draw, resolve conflicts, decide whether to continue.
Draw a Mission card from the deck. Each mission has requirements (enemies to defeat, obstacles to overcome) and a victory point reward.
Draw Maquis cards from your deck. You can play them face-down (base value) or reveal them (full ability). Revealed cards are removed from the game after use.
Face enemies and obstacles with the cards in your hand. If you win, you complete the mission and earn points. If you fail, you lose Maquis or suffer penalties.
You can stop (count your points and see if you have won) or draw another Mission. The further you go, the more you risk.

A Game in Five Moments
What Happens at the Table
Not the rules. The experience.
Maquis Draft
Choose twelve partisan cards from those available. Each has different abilities: some strong right away, some that unlock combos. These twelve cards are all you will have for the entire campaign.
First Mission, First Choices
Draw the first cards, reveal the mission. You need to defeat a couple of enemies. Are face-down cards enough? Or do you reveal someone immediately to close safely? Every revealed card never returns.
Thinning Deck
You have completed two or three missions, but the deck is already weaker. You burned the best cards to win. The next mission is harder, and you have fewer resources.
Final Push-Your-Luck
You have enough points to win, but you can attempt one last mission for a better score. The deck is stripped to the bone. Go or stop? Here it is decided whether you are a commander or a kamikaze.
Victory or Defeat
Either you have completed enough missions and the Resistance survives, or you have lost all the Maquis and Franco wins. Count the points, look at the remaining cards, and understand where you went wrong.

Three things to know
Deck-destruction, not deck-building
You don't build the deck: you destroy it. Every revealed card leaves forever. At the end of the game, the deck is destroyed, and in the next campaign, you draft a new one. Those looking for growing combos will be disappointed.
Repetitive structure
The missions vary, but the loop is always the same: draw, resolve, decide whether to continue. After ten games, the system reveals itself, and the challenge becomes beating your score, not discovering new things.
Luck matters
Draw poorly in the crucial mission and you lose, even with perfect choices. The game mitigates with the initial draft and hand management, but an unlucky draw can ruin everything.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How you win and how you lose
You accumulate points by completing missions. You win if you reach the threshold before losing all the Maquis.
Victory
- You complete enough missions to reach the required score (varies based on the chosen difficulty)
- You voluntarily stop with enough points before risking too much
- You survive with at least one Maquis and completed missions beyond the minimum threshold
Defeat
- You fail to defeat the enemies of a mission and the deck empties
- You push too far and fail the last mission without enough points to win
Resist! is a solitaire that hurts in the right choices: every burned card is a real sacrifice, and the tension grows mission after mission. For those looking for a 30-minute historical push-your-luck.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ on Resist!
What mechanics does Resist! use?
Deck destruction (the deck thins, it doesn't grow), hand management, push your luck (decide when to stop), card play conflict resolution (use cards to defeat enemies). It is a hybrid between a tactical solitaire and decreasing resource management.
Is it hard to learn?
No. Read the rules in 10 minutes, play the first game immediately. The complexity is not in the rules, but in the decisions: when to reveal, when to stop, which cards to sacrifice.
How long does a campaign last?
A full game lasts 20-40 minutes depending on how many missions you attempt. It is a perfect solitaire for a lunch break or a quick evening.
Is it only for solitaire experts?
No. It is an excellent gateway to solitaires: simple rules, immediate tension, strong theme. Those looking for a Mage Knight or a Spirit Island will be disappointed (too light), but those who want a fast historical push-your-luck will appreciate it.
Is it available in Italian?
Yes, this is the Italian edition curated by Studio Supernova. Cards, rulebook, and components completely localized.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they have done.

🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1 Take on the role of a Maquis commander and build two decks: Hidden Maquis and Recruits.
2 Each turn you choose a mission to tackle, defended by enemy forces with special abilities.
3 Play Maquis cards, deciding whether to use them Hidden for light but reusable effects or Revealed for powerful effects but sacrificing the card.
4 Compare your strength with that of the enemy troops and, if you overcome the defense, you complete the mission and get points.
5 The game ends with victory if you complete all missions or with defeat if you fail too many missions, lose too many civilians or find yourself with only spies in your hand
